<strong>Summary<br><br></strong>The Convenience Manager is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction by building a reputation for Ultimate Service. He/She is responsible for leading the efficient, effective, safe, legal and profitable operations of the Convenience/Fuel Department. He/She coordinates human relations for the Convenience/Fuel Department and ensures execution of all company and department policies and procedures on a timely basis.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest </li><li> Responsible for hiring, training and performance management of team members </li><li> Responsible for communication of information distribution to entire department </li><li> Responsible for maintaining positive atmosphere, spirit and morale within the department </li><li> Demonstrate effective leadership skills by managing time and delegation </li><li> Develop both store and team members as well as future leaders utilizing available materials and systems </li><li> Support and execute division concepts and programs </li><li> Accountable for executing and meeting financial goals </li><li> Responsible for identifying areas of opportunity throughout the store and within the department </li><li> Ensure quality and consistent product availability and solutions to our guests </li><li> Responsible for safeguarding, controlling and monitoring all department assets, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented for control of assets </li><li> Practice safe work habits; maintain a high level of store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment; encourage team members to do the same </li><li> Oversee that department systems and processes are utilized consistently and correctly </li><li> Direct meetings with the department leadership team to effectively plan production and promotion goals </li><li> Verifies team member schedules against business needs </li><li> Coach and discipline team members as necessary in accordance with policy and procedures with support from Talent Management </li><li> Verify all books and manuals are kept updated </li><li> Oversee inventory process and reporting </li><li> Oversee that Food Safety Procedures are adhered to </li><li> Approve all purchase orders and maintain adequate levels </li><li> Demonstrate good conflict management skills </li><li> Perform other duties assigned by upper management <br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> Must be 18 years of age or older. </li><li> High School Diploma or equivalent. </li><li> Minimum of one year of retail management experience. </li><li> Ability to obtain all certifications necessary and required to handle and sell tobacco, alcohol, fuel, propane, and food service items. </li><li> The Department Manager is required to work the scheduled work shift as needed to meet the needs of the store guests and team members. </li><li> Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner </li><li> Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervision </li><li> Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking </li><li> Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs </li><li> Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, Email). </li><li> Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner </li><li> Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification </li><li> Bilingual English/Spanish a plus </li><li> Ability to receive phone calls at home </li><li> Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays </li><li> Must attend meetings, including out-of-town, requiring overnight stays </li><li> Must be able to transfer to another store within the area </li><li> Ability to function as a team member and get along with others</li></ul>
