Job Summary
Drive the design and delivery of complex, fit-for-purpose, business strategy-aligned, high-impact, cross-domain technology solution blueprints and associated solutions. Build architectural capability in development teams across the estate.
Key Responsibilities Leverage a deep understanding of organizational strategy to identify, design, and deliver scalable, testable, and reusable technology solutions. Collaborate with delivery teams to analyze customer requirements and business capabilities, framing complex business problems for solution design. Utilize emotional, social, and business acumen to understand stakeholder perspectives and reconcile these within solution designs. Apply analytical and creative problem-solving skills to synthesize solution designs beyond problem analysis. Lead design thinking processes to deliver solution blueprints and roadmaps. Create end-to-end solution blueprints and ensure their implementation across all project phases. Design detailed feasibility studies and business cases, leveraging a strong engineering background and modern software design practices. Identify appropriate tools and technologies for solutions, researching alternatives as needed. Take accountability for solution blueprint design and delivery decisions. Work with project management to align solution roadmaps with strategic organizational requirements. Participate in embedded delivery teams to ensure successful solution implementation. Ensure solutions adhere to architectural principles and are implementable by involved teams. Conduct solution and code reviews, testing, and other disciplines related to solution delivery. Present solution designs and business cases for approval in architectural forums. Identify risks and work with stakeholders to mitigate them. Monitor solution performance against customer metrics and ensure ongoing business results. Maintain and evolve architectural principles and build capability within delivery teams. People Development Participate in peer reviews and share knowledge to improve architectural practices. Set and communicate solution directions across teams. Build and develop architectural capabilities through coaching and knowledge sharing. Support talent attraction, recruitment, and retention efforts. Embed agile practices within teams to foster high performance and self-directed work. Financial, Vendor Management, Risk & Governance Take accountability for all risks associated with solution design. Apply organizational risk and governance frameworks. Ensure solutions are sustainable, compliant with regulations, and aligned with group guidelines. Engage with chapter and guild leads for decision-making. Deliver solutions on time and within budget.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
